Direct Consumer Auto Feature Education: Learn More About What Your Car Can Do

I offer a service in which I will work with you to explain and demonstrate everything that your vehicle can do. Think of me as your personal new Car, SUV, and/or Truck tutor or the Geek Squad for your (complex) automobile.

Have you recently purchased a new vehicle and are you wondering exactly what it can do, what all of the buttons and labels mean, or how to get it to do what you think it can do? You probably got a brief introduction at the dealship and now want to know more. I provide personal attention, focus and problem solving based on your needs. The other option is to go back to the dealership over and over or keep hunting on-line.

Reach-out, let me know what kind of car you own and we will work together to better understand your needs, expectations and frustrations – and remove any mystery together. I live in SE Michigan and am happy to visit or meet if convenient. Otherwise, we will set-up a video call.

** I offer this service for FREE in exchange for you sharing your challenges and opinions. I may ask to record some of our interactions (to compile feedback for OEMs for future improvements).

I design vehicle features & interaction professionally & your feedback and stories teach me (& others) a lot.

If interested, I will plan (2) meetings or visits - 1) to Understand your challenges (& provide preliminary info), and 2) to provide more comprehensive Instruction.

Visit or Meeting #1: Initial Consultation

Getting to know your needs, activities and desires related to your vehicle. We will spend up to 60 minutes walking through your typical vehicle-related activities, your everyday needs and your desires and expectations. We will discuss what is working for you and what is not as well as what you like and what is frustrating.

We will be sure to cover the comprehensive set of vehicle functions and content - including navigation, music, entertainment, calls, text messaging, personalization, buttons, controls, customization, settings, driver assistance, profiles and more.

You will know doubt learn a few things during this first meeting & review, but the goal is to “level-set” and understand your status. We will then make plans for me to return with more clarity, answers and instruction.

Visit or Meeting #2: Follow-up

On Visit #1, we solved some issues and crafted a plan. A few days later, we will get back together and focus on demonstrating capabilities and intended functions, explain shortcuts, features and more about your specific vehicle. Let’s then collaborate and demonstrate how things work, solve your issues, overcome challenges and answer your questions.

My goal is for you to feel inspired, better educated, and confident that you understand and can operate your vehicle more efficiently and safely.

About Me I am a former auto company (OEM) executive turned consultant. I spend most of my time working with companies to improve their products, so that their customers find them easier to understand and use. As you can imagine, this involves spending a lot of time on driveways, in garages, and on the streets observing, discussing, and recording how owners use their vehicles.

The reality is that most owners avoid buttons, don’t understand many features & functions, create work-arounds and only ever experience 40-50% of what their vehicles can do. This is the industry and the manufacturer’s fault, not yours.

I will work with you to remove any mystery and help you realize your vehicle’s full capabilities and value. I am based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Please email me or sign-up for more information (or) to set-up an appointment.
